IN PHOTO (above middle right) ...Cut to Thursday September 28, 2017...27 years beyond 1990: Mastering engineer, PER LINDBERG, and JON STRIDER, happily hold the freshly hatched USB stick of the just-mastered version of STRIDER...Steps Out in Malmö, Sweden. Skillful and diligent, Per was patient with the project and delivered the goods with his magical "bought at Abbey Road" reference speakers!
Per says, "In 1989 I was 17 years old and had just started to work in my first recording studio, mainly recording demos for the local punkbands.
One of them turned out to be the well known skatepunkband Millencolin.
I have since then worked with The Blue Pearls, David Lamar, Desinformation, Nasum and Swedish National Radio to name but a few.
All this leading up to "Strider steps out"..."
OPEN UP YOUR HEART was inspired by the same woman that triggered No More Heroes. Written in 1982 or thereabouts, in L.A. The song was published by producer/ keyboardist/ composer, George Duke, for R&B pop singer, Jeffry Osborne. Darryl Phinnessee (who was with Michael Jackson for all of his solo career, Sting & signed to Qwest Records, Quincy Jones’ label...) beautifully sang the original demo. In 1987 I decided to put it out myself, on this Strider...Steps Out album.
lyrics
OPEN UP YOUR HEART
(Strider)
I’ve been waiting here forever
For someone like you
Fate has brought us close together
Now it’s up to you
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___ Heart___
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___
Let me know we’ll never be apart
Please don’t hold back
You must know
You’re everything to me
Please don’t hide behind your past
Let yourself go free
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___ Heart___
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___
Let me know we’ll never be apart
Whether it’s right or wrong
Love is stronger than reason
Whether you laugh or cry
Don’t deny what you’re feeling
Oh___
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___ Heart___
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___
Hold me like we’ll never be apart
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___ Heart___
Open Up Your Heart
Open Your Heart___
Let me know we’ll never be___ apart
Open your heart___
